GLOSS COATING
Gloss coating increases the boards strength only marginally, but it is generally added to increase the appearance of the board. Gloss coating is applied after the board has been hand-sanded and machine-polished. The gloss coat gives the board a lustrous shine. Most of our longboards are glossed. On the other hand, most of our shortboards are not gloss coated because the extra few ounces of gloss coat weight can make a difference in performance.
